QSA at ECTRIMS 2022


Arman Eshaghi and Frederik Barkhof will be presenting at the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) being held in Amsterdam next week (26-28 October 2022).

  • Educational Session 6 (MAGNIMS): MRI and the diagnosis of MS - where we are and what the future is. "MS mimics: red and green flags" by Frederik Barkhof. Location - Forum, 26 October 8:45 - 9:45 am. The talk will review differential diagnosis of multiple sclerosis that is to differentiate MS from its mimics.

  • Scientific Session 4: Novel modelling approaches. "Clinical prediction using complex models" by Arman Eshaghi. Location - Forum, 26 October 2:30 - 4:00 pm. The talk will review the latest advances on using prognostic models in MS literature and its translation to benefit patients in the future, and discuss using advanced machine learning in predicting the future course of multiple sclerosis and its application in clinical trials.

  • Hot Topic 6: Inclusion of optic nerve lesions in McDonald criteria. "Rationale and detection by MRI" by Frederik Barkhof. Location - Elicium, Thursday 27 October, 10:00 - 11:00 am. The talk will present on potential updates to the current diagnostic MS criteria by adding lesions (or plaques) on the nerves that connect eyes to the brain (optic nerve).
