Subtypes and stages of diabetic retinopathy, found with SuStaIn.
Diabetic retinopathy progresses along more than one path, and the standard grading scales capture only part of it.
QSA is applying SuStaIn, the method behind its MS subtypes, to retinal imaging and clinical measures in diabetic retinopathy: to find its subtypes, the order in which changes appear, and the people most likely to progress. The same approach extends to other eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration.
